The 1965 Rolling Stones documentary Charlie Is My Darling is set to be officially released for the first time.  It’s a 50-minute film shot 47 years ago this month, after ‘Satisfaction’ had entered the charts, when the Stones did a two-date tour of Ireland.  A new restored version of the film which includes the earliest known professionally recorded footage of the band, will premiere at the New York Film Festival September 29th.   Look for a commercial release of the film this November, not long after we’ll also get the Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane, that follows the band from their early road trips and gigs in the 1960s right up to present day.
